KARACHI, Oct 27: Sindh Chief Secretary Dr Mutawakkal Kazi has directed the concerned authorities to benefit maximum from the services of Sindh Public Service Commission.

He was presiding over a meeting, which was attended by additional chief secretaries, Syed Anwar Hyder (Home), Ghulam Sarwar Khehro (Development), Mohammed Saleem Khan (Local Government), senior member of revenue board, Manzoor Hussain Bhutto, all the provincial secretaries and ACE chairman Mukhtar Ahmed.

The chief secretary directed that all gazetted vacancies, including those of lecturers, should be filled through the SPSC. He made it clear that there was no room for deviation from rules and regulations.

For elimination of corruption, he said that the anti- corruption department would have to take punitive action on the basis of evidence without any fear against the official committing an offence, no matter how influential that person could be.

Dr Kazi said that transfer of those employees who had been at the same place without any posting for the last 20 years, was quite essential so that common people could be freed from monopoly of such persons.

Emphasising the need for seeking guidance from the Chief Justice of Sindh, the chief secretary said that the concerned authorities should remain in contact with the High Court in respect of judiciary cases.

The chief secretary pointed out that he kept on receiving reports about abstention of even high officials from their offices. He said that absent without any prudent reason would be accountable. —APP
