Naval, PAF Chiefs witness exercise 'Sea Spark'

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah and Chief of Air Staff, Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman on Monday witnessed the ongoing exercise "Sea Spark."

Both the Chiefs flew by the Karakorum Eagle-03 AWACS aircraft for a surveillance mission. After observing the exercise from the air both the chiefs went on board Pakistan Navy (PN) ship to witness the ongoing activities at sea.

While interacting with the participating crew, both the Chiefs expressed satisfaction over the professionalism and synergy between Pakistan Navy and PAF.

Exercise Sea Spark has provided an opportunity to validate the joint war fighting concepts.

Chief of Naval Staff appreciated the professional commitment, joint operations and the combat potential of AWACS in maritime operational environment and said, this exercise has given exposure to the Air and Naval crews in near realistic environment.

The most encouraging aspect is co-operation between the 2 forces (PAF & PN). In the absence of aircraft career, the only option is closet air support for our navy to have a sharp teeth, from under the sea, over the sea and from air. No one can win a war, but than this is the job of our forces is that No one wins a war against US

@rehan Early warning Aircraft helps the navy to protects itself from a distance. This capability seems have been realised by AWACS type Aircraft. Good news for PAK Navy. Pak Zinda bad.

Excellent Joint Exercise/ Cooperation amongest the forces. Still we have the ratio of 6:1 in favour of India as far as Naval Assets are concerned. Need more work to dominate Indian's Ocean. Even if we don't want to dominate Indian Ocean as a peace loving nation still we need to strike balance so as to put HER in trouble when situation arises..

This shows Pakistan is now encompassing power and force in the Asiatic Ocean. Hence the co-ordination of Naval and PAF operations. This is to ensure Sea routes to and from CPEC are kept open and clear of any mischief makers in the area. None will pass this way unless pakistan allows it to, even to Chabar port in Iran. The access to it will come under Pakistan's will.

The Pak Navy is very weak compared to Indian Navy , WHY? because only 10% of money is given to Navy and the rest 90% is shared by Army and Air force. We will not be able to defend if India attack from the Sea side.

@Imtiaz Faruqui Pakistan has considerable amount of submarines to counter India's huge fleet at sea .. But no doubt we have capabilities to deal with them .. At the moment Pak Navy lags behind that of us .. We have considerable amount of influence in Indian ocean to protect our Trade routes

Preparation is good way to keep in shape, real life navy stuff lies underwater as that's where sub marines rule the game , over sea is only a facade for any navy considering the lethality of air to ship and ship to ship missiles .under sea capability is the most leather deterrent in my opinion , over sea assests are a just a show off and present more of a target than a deterrent in today's missile age.
