PESHAWAR, Oct 26: Three men were killed and three injured over a land dispute in Tangi Banda village of Hangu district on Sunday, police sources said.

The families of Mohammad Zaman and Enzar Gul had a rivalry over a property issue.

On Sunday, the two parties exchanged fire using sophisticated weapons resulting into the death of Akhtar Zaman and Pir Zaman, sons of Mohammad Zaman and Fazal Zareen, son of Mughal Shah, whereas Andaz Gul and Saeed Moin, son of Enzar Gul, and Khursheed, son of Lal Moin, were critically injured and rushed to the provincial metropolis for treatment.

THREATENED: The NWFP Public Transport Owners Association has threatened a wheel-jam strike on Tuesday if the traffic police did not stop impounding the public transport vehicles under outdated laws.

According to a press release issued here on Sunday, the transporters association held a protest meeting at the general bus stand here. The meeting was presided over by its president, Jehangir Khan Afridi.

The local transporters union head threatened a wheel-jam strike on Tuesday if the police did not stop impounding the vehicles. “All the public transporters will observe a three-hour strike daily in the first step.”
