PESHAWAR, Dec 26: The Nazim of Nowshera district, Pervez Khattak, while approving various development schemes in some of the union councils, has stressed the need for their completion on schedule.

Presiding over a meeting of the district works committee, which was attended by the district coordination officer, Viqarun Zeb, government officilas and elected representatives, Mr Khattak said that executing agencies should liaise with the district finance and planning department so that minor problems, if any, could be addressed well in time.

He asked government departments to submit their detailed PC-1 so that their schemes could be approved at the earliest.

Addressing the meeting, the district coordination officer said that concerned departments should ascertain why some schemes could not be implemented. Such abandoned schemes, after proper scrutiny, could be referred to the Nazim for approval, the officer added.

The meeting approved various schemes for road and street carpeting and improving the drainage system in union councils, including Daagai, Choki Mamrez, Choki and Khweshgi Payan.
