PESHAWAR, Oct 25: Consensus among all the four federating units is necessary before undertaking the construction of Kalabagh dam, says former State Minister Mohammad Unis Elahi Sethi.

Speaking to APP on Saturday, the veteran leaguer said that it was necessary to mould the public opinion in favour of the water project as three provinces had expressed reservations in this regard.

He said that there were other suitable sites where dams could be constructed for enhancing water storage capacity besides generating power, adding that under the present circumstances, Bhasha dam was most feasible project.

Referring to the country’s current economic condition, the former state minister said that more efforts were needed to improve economic indicators.—APP
