BCCI, Indian govt not sincere in reviving cricket with Pakistan: Miandad

ISLAMABAD: Legendary batsman and former skipper Javed Miandad on Tuesday lashed out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), saying that instead of making efforts to make India a sport-loving nation, the BCCI is taking absurd dictations from the Indian government and adopting a ridiculous stance by asking the Pakistan government to initiate talks for resuming bilateral cricket series.
It is pertinent to mention here that BCCI secretary Anurag Thakur in a recent statement had said that Pakistani government should talk to its Indian counterpart for the resumption of Pakistan-India cricket series as it will greatly help in building a conducive atmosphere.
Miandad said it clearly shows how strongly the Indian government influences workings of the BCCI. “The BCCI is not a cricket board but a government’s board,” he said. “This attitude of India towards other cricketing nations is the beginning of their downfall and the day is not far when India would itself ask Pakistan for a series.”
Miandad asked that when Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan recently went to India on BCCI’s invitation for a meeting, what protocol or help the BCCI or the Indian government provided to him. “That shows that neither the BCCI nor the Indian government is sincere in resumption of the bilateral cricket series,” he said.
Miandad added that BCCI officials have got inflated egos now and their attitudes have changed after getting the status among the big three.
“Before big three the ICC used to issue a 10-year Future Tours Programme for all countries but now we don’t see that as it is the big three who decide what all other Boards should do, which is such a shame,” he lamented.
He pointed out that if the Ashes series can be played regularly without any ego issues affecting it, why not Indo-Pak series. “It is India which does not want it to happen because they are afraid of losing to Pakistan,” he said.
Miandad insisted that Pakistan must boycott the World Twenty20 in India next year.
“If respect really matters to the PCB, then it should not send the team to the World T20,” he emphasised. “It is a matter of our country’s prestige for which India has no regard.”

Boycot on basis of Security concerns, as Hindua attacked BCCI because of Pak meeting and India expell Aleem Dar, Waseem and Shoaib because of scurity.
Riase issue with ICC for security. and see what ICC say about shifting world cup out of India,
If you boycot based on just india not playing with you they are India is very happy that Pakistan do not come for worldcup as Pakistan team is very good now, they do not want Pakistan to win world cup on their soil

There is Security Risk to our worthy players of Pak Team. Life of our players is the prime responsibility of PCB. PCB need to put their concern before ICC and not to participate in T20 world Cup in India.
India is not safe place, anything can happen to any player of any country... All Cricket nations must be careful and think about their worthy players as their prime responsibility.

I am from India, and as Pakistani brothers can see from this incident India is only full of hate for us. Miandad bhaijan is the greatest cricketer ever, but India has tried to first falsely implicate Dawood Bhaijan related to him in criminal cases, and then tried to link Javed Bhaijan to same crimes falsely, and both their children also who have married each other. Inshallah, the greatest misfortune will befall BCCI and the whole world of cricket will boycott them to teach them a lesson after this. Pakistan should take leadership in ahceiving this, we in India are with them and with already 30% population in India and 100% in Pakistan and also Bangladesi brothers and sisters who have not been misguided no one can stop us from winning not only cricket but also cricket administration.

As an Indian I believe we need the following - disconnect from cricket for a while since most problems whittle away or give a better perspective when you disengage for a while. And yes PCB should wait for BCCI to invite them. It's just the right thing to do.

The responsibility of ensuring that adequate security to the Pakistan team during the ICC sponsored T20 World Cup event rests primarily with the ICC. Pakistan should be ready to go and play in India reminding the ICC and India that the event is an ICC event and as such that Pakistan will hold the ICC legally responsible for the slightest embarrassment or harm that is caused to its players or administrators.

BCCI is wrong in not giving clear message to PCB instead of keep guessing. they should not have committed in first place at least Pakistan would have had a different series with another country. Having said that I think based on political issues that India and Pak have with each other full of tension bilateral series is just not possible. Encounters should be limited to ICC events. In context of India Pak, easier said than done that Politics and Sports kept apart not simply practical. That's the reality and both parties should acknowledge it.

Miandad is right, without Pakistan the T20 tournament in india, no one even in india will care about the tournament. Pakistan vs India is the main course to most south asians, without us it just become some other tournament that people can't be bothered with.

I agree, if they refuse to honor their commitments then there is no need to play in tournaments in India.
The local government of Mumbai threatened Pakistani players, not some extreme group but part of the actual Indian government. Why is the ICC silent? What would happen if this was Australia instead.

Pakistan MUST participate in the world Twenty 20 next year in India. It is the responsibility of ICC to provide security for the Pakistani players and officials and Pakistani umpire(s) appointed by the ICC.
We are not being invited by the BCCI

In 1999, we toured India which was within six months of Kargil issue. There were pitch invasions and threats then too, but we continued on. Miandad was the coach then. Pakistan victory at Chennai was one of the sweetest memory this game has ever had. Point is this tour can still happen but it's the unwillingness of BCCI and Indian Govt. which is the main hindrance, and it's very unfortunate for the game lovers on both side of borders.

Just to gain some bank balance you are humiliated by BCCI consistently.
Its time to take some high ground since against participation in T20 Indian also lose some revenue as always between Pk vs IND draws a huge crowd and ratings goes off the chart not to mention top billing for advertisement on TV.
But again some strong lobby in our country and outside will not agree.

India cancelled their tour of Pakistan
Srilanka agreed and toured Pakistan against the wishes of India. They tried to convince srilanka not to go to Pakistan and India will visit Sri Lanka but having good ties with Pakistan srilanka went ahead with tour!
That gave some heartburn to our beloved neighbors! And RAW decided to kill two birds with one stone! Taught lesson to Srilanka by directly attacking their bus and injuring few players. The whole incident isolated Pakistan and international cricket left Pakistan

Even if there is no security concern we should boycott T20 world cup on Indian soil to send strong message that they can not play games with us.
RSS-Shive Sena is a terrorist organization that has influence on all decisions through Modi. I hope Pakistani officials understand that connection and make their decisions keeping that in mind. There are several countries other than India who are willing to play on equal basis.
My opinion is same as Miandad's. Boycott T20 , and decide it now and stick to your decision even if they apologize.

Sports used to be about 'sports'. Nowadays it is about money. In an ideal world, the rest would have decided to ditch the three stuck-ups and snobs. (Then the three of them can play as much as they want). However, as the human nature dictates, only few will ever take a principled and honorable stance. The rest will continue to try to cozy up to the 'influential'. You see this in every walk of life. Sports used to be different but because of money and power and influence, it is no longer the case.

Javed started his Test career in 1975-76. He got out LBW first time in Pakistan in 1985 i.e. almost 10 years after he started playing. Prior to 1985 he had been out LBW 15 times out of Pakistan but 0 time inside Pakistan.

Taking in to account the recent performances of the Indian and Pakistani cricket teams, if the two were to play, who would win? Of course , "cricket is a game of chance" and nobody can predict the outcome for sure, but I'd put my money on the Pakistani team.

I think their is no any security problem here..cause different league is going on like football, kabbadi, hockey, badminton and many more..there are 1000s of international star player's played In india..many international player's choose india as theirs second home..because of ipl and others businesses events...
