Cuban-Pakistani diplomatic relations turned 60 years in 2015. This has already been marked with a few events in Islamabad this month, including an art exhibition titled ‘Ghost Postes’, by Cuban artist and gallery director Lidumila Lopez Dominguez.

At a reception organised by the Cuban-Pakistan Social Forum, Ambassador Zenen Buergo Concepcion gave a comprehensive speech to a large number of guests. He underlined the excellent cooperation between the two countries for six decades.

He drew special attention to the cooperation in health and emergency assistance, with 2,600 Cuban doctors and nurses arriving in Pakistan soon after the devastating earthquake in Kashmir and Mansehra in 2005.

“I am so proud of having received my medical training in Cuba”, said a Pakistani who had just returned home. “I love Pakistan, but I already miss Cuba,” he said.
