KARACHI: The Pakistan Sikh Council held a protest demonstration outside the Karachi Press Club on Sunday against the alleged desecration of their holy book, Guru Granth Sahib, in India.
On Friday, reports about the desecration came from the Indian districts of Ferozepur and Tarn Taran. Mass protests and road blockades were seen in Punjab as a result.
Gathered outside the KPC, young Sikh men chanted slogans against the “intolerance and continuing violence against Sikhs in India”.
The group was also joined by Allama Muhammad Ahsan Siddiqui, secretary general of the interfaith commission in Karachi, among others.
