KARACHI: Complaint cell set up

KARACHI, Oct 21: A complaint cell has been established at the chief minister’s secretariat to monitor prices in Ramazan.

The cell, with phone number 919, will maintain a liasion with various government departments and agencies while solving the problems of the people.

It will start functioning from Oct 25, and will work round-the-clock. The cell has been set up in pursuance of a decision taken at a meeting held on Oct 7.

The government has directed all the concerned departments and agencies to ensure adequate supply of food-stuff, like floor, fruits, vegetables, edible oils, chicken, meat, etc., at cheaper rates.

The KESC, KWSB, Hesko and Sui Southern Gas Company have also been directed to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity, drinking water and Sui gas, particularly during the timings of Taraveeh, Sehri and Iftar.

All the law-enforcing agencies, administration and police have been directed to strictly maintain law and order during the holy month and to ensure that the sanctity of the month is observed.—APP
