SANGHAR, Oct 19: Mir Hassan Khaskheli, father of Shazia Khaskheli, who was killed along with her husband, Muhammad Hassan Solangi, on Oct 8, has claimed that no Jirga was held to kill his daughter.

He was speaking at a news conference here on Saturday.

He claimed that the Nikah of his daughter, Shazia, 19, had already been performed with one Huzoor Bux Khaskheli but she had eloped with a 38-year-old man, Mohammad Hassan Solangi, which was against Islamic injunctions.

He claimed that he wanted his daughter to return home so that he could forgive her but some members of his family had already killed her “to save the family’s honour”. He said that unfortunately he was arrested for killing his daughter.

He said that he was released only when his daughter’s actual killers surrendered themselves before the police admitting to their crime.
