LAHORE: Former T20 caption of Pakistan cricket team Muhammad Hafeez got his money back in a property fraud case after the intervention of the chief minister.
Muhammad Kashif, a property dealer and his companions of Defence, had sold an eight-marla residential plot to Hafeez and received Rs22.5 million some two years back.
The dealer, later, refused to hand over the plot or money to Hafeez.
Hafeez on his own tried his best to resolve the matter but in vain. He approached the police and lodged a complaint of bounced cheque against the dealer.
The CM took notice of the incident and directed Capital City Police Officer Amin Wains to ensure justice to the player.
On Saturday, CCPO Wains and Crime Investigation Agency SP Umar Virk held a press conference along with Hafeez at the CCPO office.
Speaking to the media, Hafeez praised the police for helping him recover his money.
FOUND DEAD: An identified teenage boy was found dead in the canal in the Chuhng area.
Police said the boy who looked to be 17-year-old was apparently killed as he had the torture marks on his body. Police shifted the body to morgue for autopsy.
