Man kills children, commits suicide

VEHARI, Oct 18: A man along with his two children reportedly committed suicide on Saturday by taking pesticides over a property dispute at Chak 37/WB.

Three brothers — Sarwar, Ramzan and Riaz — were living in their ancestral house and often quarrelled with each other. Some days back, Riaz demanded his share of property, but their brothers refused him.

On Saturday, he again repeated his demand which became a matter of utmost concern for his brothers. They severely thrashed him and then locked him in a room with his two children. In sheer dejection, Riaz along with his daughter Asia (6) and son Afzal (8) took pesticides. They were found dead when Riaz’s brothers opened the door after about three hours.

Both the brothers escaped from the scene.
