ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) appointed on Friday heads of election tribunals for Lahore and Multan to entertain complaints about forthcoming by-elections in two National Assembly constituencies — NA-122 (Lahore) and NA-154 (Lodhran).

According to the Election Commission of Pakistan, retired district & sessions judges Shahid Rafique and Rashid Qamar have been appointed as judges of the election tribunals of Multan and Lahore, respectively. They will serve till Aug 31 next year.

In both constituencies PML-N candidates had won the 2013 polls, but their elections were declared null and void by election tribunals on the basis of mismanagement and irregularities on the part of Election Commission of Pakistan.

Former speaker of National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had won from NA-122 (Lahore) and Siddique Khan Baloch from NA-154 (Lodhran).
