PESHAWAR, Oct 18: The National Awami Party Pakistan (NAPP) announced here on Saturday that it was parting ways with the National Alliance.

A press release issued by the party says this decision was taken at a meeting of the central working committee presided over by party central president Arbab Ayub Jan.

Members of the party from across the province also decided at the meeting to begin their political activities from grass-roots level. The party will be re-organized and new central office-bearers will be elected by March.

Central information secretary Shakir Bonairi said the party had evolved a new strategy and adopted a new policy. The central committee has appointed a body to propose amendments to the constitution of the party.

Earlier, in a meeting of the central committee, Arbab Mohammad Ayub Jan was elected as new central president of the National Awami Party and Shab-ud-Din as its NWFP president. Syed Tassadaq Hussain, Nazir Magsi and Aziz Ullah Khan were elected as provincial presidents of Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan respectively.
