Sitting in my room in front of my computer I am writing in English about supreme court's ruling about making Urdu official language of Pakistan.I wonder how the job of law makers is done by judiciary. I was born in Pakistan and proud to be Pakistani but i want my children to learn English.I want my self to write and express my ideas in English.I am in some kind of inferiority complex. I love Urdu because it is my linguafranca most of my people speak and under stand it. All my literature is in urdu but i want to learnEnglish. I wonder why? I have a desire and hope that one day Urdu will become a language that most of the people of my continent love to learn. Can a judicial order can change the fate of Urdu or can a govt. take a step to make it possible. This question remained unsolved for last 6 decades. The campaign of movement of independence was in urdu but as soon as we got it we turned our faces to our white masters and left left no stone unturned in learning English
