Im.an Indian and I must say that just being invited by Facebook doesn't gonna make world upside down. People of India need development at grassroot level. Only then India will grow in true sense. Modi should prove what it means to be sab ka saath sab ka vikaas. We only want proper basic facilities at proper minimal price for all poor people. At the moment India is like a Pot which looks so shining from outside but inside it is rusted. We want a nation where we dont need to pay for water to drink atleast.

While I appreciate what Modi is doing for India in terms of public relations I think we are yet to see the changes his party wishes to implement affect our economy. GST and Land acquisition bill are both on a standstill. Opposition politics in India is too strong. The BJP stalled the UPA from implementing a lot of reforms and now they are getting the same treatment. A lot of changes to the economy have been because of the benefit of plunging oil prices. Manufacturing will take atleast 3-4 yrs to kick off. Indo -Pak relations are at a low point even though Indo-SAARC relations are quite positive. My overall viewpoint of this government is still undecided. Perhaps by the end of his term we will have some real positive change and he will have something solid to show for.

A handshake with Zuckerberg and everyone goes wild. If it was Nawaz Sharif then most Pakistanis will be cursing him for being unproductive.

Why FB doesn't open development center in India ? All other biggie have ODC in India, except FB and Google ? Many Indians work in these organisations and FB also recruits from India . PM should gently raise this issue .

Must say that Indians made their huge presence in Bay Area's Silicon Valley which has worlds' biggest companies have most number of Indian employees with really high positions.

I worked at Visa headquarters in Bay Area and they have 4 huge buildings for Visa employees and 1 entire building was totally dominated by Indian engineers!!

A time to ponder for Pakistani establishment about growing Indian soft power. India is a large country about 6 times larger in population and resources, it defies logic that Pakistan should act as eqeuel to India.

@Bye Bye This is not unique to India -- somehow Pakistanis conveniently forget that they have many more people living without toilets -- as% of population, Pakistanis have many more people living without toilet than India does -- but of course, Pakistanis never mention that! :) Also, India has a higher per capita income than Pakistan -- despite a much larger population -- do not forget that either. Before you jump to the favorite Pakistani statement that India is a larger geographical country with a higher population, let me remind you that countries like Taiwan and South Korea and Singapore have bigger economies than Pakistan despite being smaller geographical countries and smaller population. IMAGINE: Singapore has a larger GDP than Pakistan !! :)

Wish PM Narendra Modi succeeds in getting real investments out of his various meetings with CEO's of Silicon Valley. We already know that Dell is investing USD 20 Billion, but much more can be got out of Silicon Valley with deft reforms in labour laws and scrapping of tax laws with retrospective effect. Please get the ivestments to India before some other South Asian country offers tax sops, please act fast.

A country does not run on foreign policy alone. And this just a meeting with a tech entrepreneur. While juvenile jingoists in India spend their waking hours hero worshiping the PM for his promotion of brand India, which definitely is a big part of his job, the actual governance of the country has been left to a bunch of incompetent, parochial, small-minded people. Ultimately brand India will amount to nothing if there is social unrest within the country. And people are getting very very impatient, as farmer suicides continue, state governments play communal and caste politics with scant regard for the bigger picture and aspirations of a growing India. The mature section of India's voters are having second thoughts on whether this was the same government that they voted for in the hopes of good governance and progress. Externally, non-resident Indians are proud to see a high-profile leader, but Indians at home would like to see more action and less bombast from this government.

Modi is coming to silicon valley and all tickets are sold out. He beat any bollywood super star by "magnitudes". Everybody in silicon valley is well informed 1 month in advance regarding his visit. All passes and tickets are sold out with in 7-10 days. Emails , online media is abuzz with is arrival, Indians and non indians alike are heading in droves to listen to him at SAP Center and Facebook HQ. Silicon valley is dancing with +ve euphoria ahead of PM Modi's visit.

@bryan I am surprised at this attitude. The role of a prime minister is to ensure a safe and healthy investment environment for all businesses. Not to go personally and take selfies with these big business owners. Modi needs to grow up and come out of his shell. There is a big bubble regarding India, and I personally feel it's just a hype and there is no real substance in it. I would say Pakistan is much better placed to take over india economically.
