Ramazan bazaars

BAHAWALPUR, Oct 17: Ramazan bazaars will start functioning in all tehsil headquarters of the district from October 26.

This was stated at a meeting of District Price Control Committee held here on Friday.

The meeting was told that the step has been taken to provide people essential commodities at low rates during Ramazan.

The committee took serious note of the reported price hike in the district and warned that profiteering and overcharging would be strictly dealt with.

THEFT: Two youth stole gold jewellery, American dollars and cash worth Rs500,000 from the house of a lawyer in the Model Town area on Friday morning.

Police sources said Bilal Ahmad Sani was in the bathroom while his wife was in the kitchen when Shoaib and Taimoor of Aan Khas locality entered the house and allegedly stole US $2,000, 13 tolas of gold jewellery and Rs 52,000 in cash.

Civil Lines police have registered a case against them.
