An annual ceremony to commemorate a centuries-old tale, that Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani raised a sunken ship carrying a wedding party, at the pleading of the groom's mother, saving all the occupants was observed on Thursday along the banks of Lahore's River Ravi.

Devotees drop symbolic paper boats, as offerings to Saint Jilani, as a way of giving thanks after their desire to give birth to a son is fulfilled.
