KARACHI, Oct 16: Pakistan’s top cueist Khurram Hussain Agha suffered his third defeat to dampen his chances of reaching the knock-out stage of World Snooker Championship in Jiang Ming City (China), according to information received here by Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA).
Last year’s losing pre-quarterfinalist, Khurram was out-played and out-potted by China number six Yang Fang Tang in straight frames.
Yang dominated the match from start to finish with 74-33, 66-33, 70-22, 66-13 victory.
Placed in 11-men pool “E”, this was Khurram’s third defeat in five matches. Khurram had to win his remaining five pool matches to have any realistic chance of making to the last 32 stage.
Pakistan number two Saleh Muhammad, who was due to play his fifth match later Thursday night was in second spot in pool “D” behind Chinese star Me Zein on inferior frame difference. Both Me and Saleh had won four matches and were unbeaten.
