BEIJING: President Mamnoon Hussain will arrive here on Tuesday on a four-day official visit to attend a grand event commemorating China’s 70th anniversary of the victory against Japan in the World War II.

The president, along with 30 heads of state, will attend the military parade of China’s People’s Liberation Army at the Tiananmen Square.

Pakistan’s Ambassador to China Masood Khalid told journalists on Monday that a 75-member contingent of Pakistan armed forces, on the invitation of China, would also march along the Chinese army and other troops from foreign countries.

He said that the significance of President Mamnoon’s visit to China was reflective of the excellent and deep-rooted relations between the two countries.

He said that the president during his stay in Beijing would hold meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping and discuss issues of mutual interest. He would also attend a dinner hosted by President Xi, which would be joined by other heads of state and governments.

He said the president would also address a lunch meeting, hosted by Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).

He will also meet Executive Vice Premier and Member of Standing Committee of Political Bureau of Communist Party.—Agencies
