LAHORE, Oct 15: Ghalib Market SHO inspector Shahid Chaddar was suspended from service while a case was registered against constable Nazir on Wednesday for stopping the car of a senior army officer.

Explanation has also been sought from Model Town SP Syed Ahmed Mobin Zaidi and ASP Muhammad Ali Nikokar. They have also been stopped from attending the office till further orders.

Reportedly, the Ghalib Market police stopped a car with tinted glass at a hold-up. The driver refused to let the police search the vehicle because the family members of a senior army officer were in the car. He also exchanged harsh words with a constable.

The matter was resolved but the driver threatened the policemen with dire consequences. City police chief Khwaja Khalid Farooq was not available for comments till late on Wednesday night as he was holding a meeting with other police officers to discuss the issue.
