KARACHI: Measures to check hoarding

KARACHI, Oct 15: Sindh chief minister Sardar Ali Mohammad Mahar on Wednesday directed that steps be taken to check hoarding of commodities.

The provincial government’s review indicates that stocks position is normal and there was normal supply of essential commodities for this part of the year.

In addition to Sunday, Monday and Friday Bazaars, such bazaars may also be organized on other days and in other areas of the province.

During the month, disbursement of Zakat fund to the poor be made expeditiously to provide Zakat during the first part of Ramazan for which the department of Zakat, Ushr and religious affairs should take immediate steps.

The sanctity of the holy month be observed in terms of serving of food in accordance with the law of the land.

Besides proper water supply be ensured during the month. Water supply agencies should remain in a state of preparedness to meet the demand for water.

Similarly, illegal power connections may be minimized by providing temporary connections on demand with proper meters by the KESC and HESCO.

Similarly, traffic arrangements be worked out in all major cities and towns.—PPI
