KARACHI: Illegal water connections

KARACHI, Oct 15: The water and sanitation department of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board has launched a campaign against defaulters of water tax, disconnecting 1978 connections during the last three days.

The water board would also disconnect sewerage connections of the defaulters, according to a press release.

According to the break-up, 509 water connections were removed in Gulshan Town, seven in Keamari Town, 18 in SITE, 21 in Baldia, 69 in Orangi, 29 in Lyari, 207 in Saddar, 310 in Jamshed Town, 51 in Shah Faisal Town, 07 in Landhi, five in Korangi, 107 in North Nazimabad, 46 in North Karachi, 210 in Gulberg, 197 in Liaquatabad, 20 in Malir, two in Bin Qasim, three in Gadap and 109 in Gulistan-i-Johar.

Syed Akhlaque Hussain, acting managing director of the KWSB, directed the concerned officials to speed up the recovery campaign.—PPI
