After the success of his latest blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman Khan fans have a new reason to rejoice.

Contrary to earlier rumours, the actor will return to the Bigg Boss stage after all.

At the end of season 8, the actor had informed the channel that he would not host the next season. The channel had reportedly approached Akshay Kumar and Ranveer Singh for the job, but it turns out that Salman is now backtracking on his decision.

According to Bollywood Life's sources, the Bajrangi Bhaijaan actor will now host Bigg Boss 9. “The modalities are fast being worked out. We will start the show as per Salman’s availability of dates,” the source revealed.

Salman also retracted his last 'resignation' from the show. In 2014, Salman Khan had announced that he might not host the Bigg Boss 8 due to a busy schedule and alleged differences with the channel. Still, fans saw him lead the eighth season when it began.

That's not all. Salman is also filling in this week for Shahid Kapoor in dance competition show Jhalak Dikhlaja. Rumour has it that Shahid is taking a quick trip to London for some alone time with his wife Mira, so producers roped in Salman to ensure that " the energy quotient of the show doesn’t dip." He will appear on the show alongside Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty to promote their upcoming film, Hero.
