THIS is apropos the recent eviction of slum dwellers in Islamabad and the response of our intelligentsia to this news. It is heartening to see that our intelligentsia is finally waking up from its deep slump which has for decades let intellectual dishonesty creep into our collective conscience.

It seems we now have a good number of emerging intellectuals who are least influenced by the elite and think independently for the benefit of the poor and working class. The mindset of the elite is such that they abhor the poor and working class.
