LAHORE: Pakistan on Saturday defeated Oman in straight sets in the Asian Volleyball Championship in Tehran.

According to the information released by the Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF), Pakistan captain Naseer Ahmad and Muneer displayed outstanding game paving way to 25-23, 25-21 25-20 victory against Oman.

Pakistan lost the opening match to Thailand despite winning the first two sets convincingly with the team losing the remaining three sets on the trot mainly due to complacency.

Had Pakistan won the match against Thailand, they could have moved to the quarterfinals after victory in the second match against Oman.

However, the fight is still on and if Pakistan triumph against South Korea or Oman beat Thailand in Sunday’s fixtures, Pakistan could qualify for the last eight.
