KARACHI: Pakistan Rangers Sindh claimed to have killed four militants in an ‘encounter’ on late Thursday night in the outskirts of the city.
The paramilitary force had conducted a targeted operation against militants of banned outfits at Kathore road near Sassi Toll Plaza. On seeing the Rangers, the suspects resorted to indiscriminate firing and in retaliatory firing, four militants were gunned down, said the paramilitary force spokesperson on Friday.
The official identified the deceased as Muhammad Asif alias Ajmal, Muhammad Amir Khan, Abdul Waseem alias Channay Wala and Younus Ahmed alias Kalia.
Transporter shot dead
A man was shot dead in the New Town area on Friday, according to police.
They added that Mohammed Ishaq, 40, was standing at a motor oil shop near the Binoria mosque when armed pillion riders emerged there, fired multiple shots at him and rode away.
