FLOODS have swept the country. Many an embankment has been breached and washed away villages. Property worth billions has been destroyed from Chitral to south Punjab, and sadly more than a hundred people drowned in this flood.

Floods are a common phenomena in this country, so why can’t our politicians come together to find permanent solutions to a problem that causes so much destruction?

When will our leaders and the people realise that we need to build more dams and reservoirs, if this country is to be spared devastations by flooding. Why doesn’t the government realise this simple fact?

I would request citizens to help as much as they can to alleviate the miseries of flood-affected compatriots.

If we do not help them in their misery then who will?
