4 Pakistani swimmers to compete at FINA World Championship

ISLAMABAD: Four Pakistani swimmers will participate in FINA World Swimming Championship which is slated to be held in Kazan, Russia from Aug 1-9.

This championship is the qualifying round for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, said a press release issued by Pakistan Swimming Federation on Friday.

It said that four players including Ms Lianna Swan, Ms Anum Bandey, Mohammad Saad Amin and Haris Bandey have been selected for the FINA event based on their national ranking which they achieved at the National Championship held in April this year.

The team will leave for Kazan on July 28.

The press release further said that five players that include Immal Ahmed, Anyushe Engineer, Areeba Sheikh, Muhammad Saad and Kawas Behram Aga will participate in the 5th FINA World Junior Championship which is scheduled to be held in Singapore from Aug 25-30. This team will leave for Singapore on Aug 23.
