RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Secretary Housing Dr Arshad Mehmood on Friday visited Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) and Leh Nullah to inspect the machinery and the plan to avoid flood like situation in the garrison city.

Wasa Managing Director Raja Shaukat Mehmood informed the secretary that Wasa had canceled holidays of the officials and staff to tackle the flood like situation during monsoon season.

He said water de-watering sets, sewer cleaning, jetting and sucker machines were available to drain out rainwater from low lying areas. He said that total 24 water tankers were in working condition.

He said Wasa had established 16 complaint offices at different areas of the garrison city including PP-6 which had recently came under the administrative control of the agency.

Secretary housing appreciated the efforts of the Wasa timing and asked to procure 50 feet and 100 feet long pipes immediately to drain out water from the low lying areas.
