Organisers cancel Champions League Twenty20 championship

NEW DELHI: Organisers of the Champions League Twenty20 have canceled the tournament with immediate effect due to a lack of public interest.
The annual tournament, launched in 2009 and featuring the domestic T20 champions from around the world, was jointly run by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Cricket Australia and Cricket South Africa.
The BCCI issued a statement Wednesday saying the decision to scrap the tournament was made unanimously after organisers “determined that the discontinuation of the league was the most appropriate decision due to the tournament's limited public following.”

BCCI official Anurag Thakur says, “Unfortunately, off the field, Champions League T20 wasn't sustaining the interest of the fans as we had hoped.”
The CLT20 was launched in the wake of the early success of the Indian Premier League.

Next cancel IPL too since the fixing Champs CSK and RR are out.These teams were being used by black money holders to fix matches in which officials of BCCI,CSA,CA must have been involved.Once these teams are out there is no more interest in tournament for these officials as there game of fixing is over.

This was again a rubbish idea. Plus under the influence of ICC (Indian cricket Council) all matches were most likely fixed. If the world wants to save the game. The cricket decision making authority should be moved where it belongs immediately.

Cricket used to be a beautiful game, but Leag marches like IPL and few others have damages it's beauty,
The number of sixes and fours snaches the exitement of those big shots already, the enormous quantity of cricket and fixed matches on top is playing a big role to be destroying the game. Money is all important but we can't sell the soul of the game just because there's a lot of sugar involved Init.

To all the pakistanis criticising IPL, BCCI and India here: please convey your sentiments to PCB and your cricketers because they seem to be dying to play with India and in IPL. be it shoib akhtar, rameez raja, wasim akram or xyz, everyone prefers coaching and commentatng on indian tournaments than improving the condition of their home team. this speak volumes about pakistan's double standards

The CLT20 being cancelled is not good. However, this was bound to happen due to the BCCI's unilateral ways. This is actually a fallout of the CSK - RR fiasco, but whatever the cost of cleaning the sport it is acceptable.

We Indian love the ipl. If you don't like it don't watch it, just like Bollywood films. BCCI won't scrap the IPL it's a national pass time. Pakistani players have also been involved in spot fixing and match fixing recently. Should ICC ban Pakistan cricket altogether?

@Dipak Singh It is not so, Pakistani's feel that Indian institutions show biasness towards Pakistan whenever given a chance, this has created a certain scepticism in Pakistani's minds towards Indian institutions, and hence such comments, Pakistani's generally are not the excessively jealous types.
