Rashid, Imran lift crown

KARACHI, Oct 9: Former Davis Cup star Rashid Malik and Imran Ahmed captured the 35+ doubles crown of the Pakistan International Veterans tennis tournament when they downed top seed Tariq Sadozai and Tayyab Yusuf 6-2, 6-3 in the final played on Thursday at Karachi Gymkhana.

35+ doubles final: Rashid Malik/Imran Ahmed bt Tariq Sadozai 6-2, 6-3

55+ singles: Akber Pisnani bt Zakaria Ali Mohd 6-4, 3-6,6-3; Anisur Rehman bt Sheikh Javaid 6-2, 6-2; Jafar Hassan 6-2, 6-0

45+ singles: Tasneem bt Mohammad Anjum 4-1 (retired); Iltifat Ahmed bt Rashid Ahmed 4-6, 6-1,7-6

45+ doubles: Tariq Sadozai/Tayyab Yusuf bt Mohd Ali/Moin Waheed 6-3, 6-3; Babar Ali Khan/Humayun Zafar bt Shaheen Minhas/Farooq 6-0, 6-2
