ISLAMABAD: The Kohsar police arrested four members of a gang allegedly involved in robbing foreigners, including diplomats and their relatives.

The police said the gang snatched valuables from the foreigners at Jinnah Supper, Supper Market and Margllah Trails.

During the preliminary investigations, the suspects confessed to committing 22 criminal activities in the city, including robbing the deputy ambassador of Bosnia, the commercial attaché of Sri Lanka along with Chinese, Italian and Cuban diplomats and a Chinese citizen. The police said the Chinese citizen was robbed of valuables in a street housing the residences of senior police and administration officers.

The police also claimed to have recovered looted mobile phones and other valuables along with cash, including foreign currencies, from the arrested suspects. Efforts are in progress to recover the remaining valuables which the accused said they had sold out.
