KARACHI: Aalmi Mushaira tonight

KARACHI, Oct 9: The 14th Aalmi Mushaira, organized by the Sakinan-i-Shahar-i-Quaid Karachi, will be held at the National Stadium on Friday at 10pm.

A spokesman for the Mushaira committee told Dawn that all arrangements for the poetic gathering had been made. He added that Sindh governor Dr Ishratul Ibad would preside over the Mushaira.

He said that Gulzar Dehlavi, Dr Naseem Nikhat and Popular Meeruthi would come from India. He added that Haneef Akhgar Malihabad and Masroor Javed would come from the US, Zahoorul Islam from the UAE and Nazar Niazi from Bangladesh.

The spokesman said the Aalmi Mushaira would be followed by a string of poetic gatherings at the following places: Karachi Gymkhana (Oct 12), Bazam-i-Nishoor (Oct 17), Sadaat-i-Amroha (Oct 19), Karachi Club (Oct 23).
