PESHAWAR, Oct 9: NWFP Inspector-General of Police Muhammad Raffat Pasha has directed officials of the police department to take all possible measures to ensure sectarian harmony in the province.

Chief capital city police Muhammad Tanvirul Haq Sipra, DIG Kohat Sultan Hanif Orakzai, SSP Operation Peshawar Inam Ghani and other senior police officials attended the meeting.

Mr Pasha said sectarian harmony had always been a traditional feature of the people of the province and pointed out that it was the department’s responsibility to ensure peace in the NWFP.

He said no religion and faith of the world allowed to play with the lives of innocent people.

He directed police officials to prepare a well thought out security plan for the region.

He urged them to keep an eye on miscreants and said that they should perform their duties in such a way that they live up to the expectations of the general public by ensuring protection of their lives, honour and property.
