Three teens held for ‘toy gun robbery’

LAHORE: Three teenagers were arrested on Friday for allegedly robbing a man with a toy gun in Iqbal Town.

Jalal, 15, Faiz, 16, and Waseem, 14, were on their way home late on Thursday night when police stopped and arrested them for carrying a toy gun. Police shifted the teenagers to a lock-up but had not registered a case against them until the filing of this report.

The Iqbal Town moharir told Dawn they received an anonymous call regarding a robbery and officers patrolling the area caught the three boys with a toy gun. He said they suspected the boys had carried out the robbery mentioned in the call however police were awaiting a complaint for identification parade of the suspects.

Family of the teenagers alleged police were demanding heavy bribe for release of the boys and no case had been registered against them.
