Imran Khan's nephew arrested in Lahore

LAHORE: The nephew of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and his friend were arrested in Lahore's Race Course area on Wednesday when they allegedly hurled abuses at a traffic warden who stopped them for violating traffic rules.

Police said the accused Azeem and his friend Abdullah were stopped by traffic warden Shakeel Ahmed for violating traffic rules.

At this point, Azeem and his friend allegedly misbehaved with the police official who then brought the two men to Race Course Station where a case was registered against the two accused.

The case was registered against Imran Khan's nephew and his friend for "threatening to kill" and "obstructing the job" of a government official.

Brilliant , how a leading partys relative got caught, ashamed that he went against the law , but feeling hopeful and grateful that the law won at the end . I can't imagine if this was nawaz Sharif or zardaris relative they would have been imprisoned

I can understand "obstructing the Job" or resisting arrest in other words. However, "threatening to kill" seems politically motivated charge (Allegedly) to strengthen the arrest. Now tell which teenager will not resist arrest? However, if convicted they should be appropriately punished. One thing for sure, you will not see IK getting involved.

I like Imran, but the way he took away his followers in D-Chowk Dharna, and now his nephews (who rightly think that they are above the law because they belong to an elite class) I wonder if we will ever be able to tackle this VIP culture. The problem is most of them have lived all their lives in West and they obey their laws, but whenever it comes to their own country I don't know what happens to them. I always wonder!

Had started to dislike PTI, but not anymore, remember how Shabaz Sharif Cheif Minister Punjab's Daughter has a poor kid working at a Bakery Beaten up, and look at Imran's Nephew going to be actually charged. This is an open proof Imran Khan stands for justice. Respect!

I wish PML-N and Others can also show this courage to support the law and do not interfere in way of Justice. IK will never use his power to get these kids out of lockup. Unfortunately we have lots of examples of VVIP kids killing others and getting away free.

Jubilations every where as the cop now regarded dutiful arrests two youngsters for misbehaving. A correct thing done. However, it is interesting to note that justice in our country is either on holiday or if present luckily then selective justice is dispensed. Question: Had the youngsters been from the ruling elite, would the same course of action had followed? (A million dollar question).

May be the traffic warden asked for a bribe and they refused, which led to an argument... how can they be charged with threaten to kill while they are seemingly harmless kids. Other political elites usually go around with 10 - 15 armed guards and usually point guns and even shoot whoever tries to approach their vehicle on the premise of safety.

Few weeks back I remember watching on dawn news that Reham Khan's guards who turned out to be a policemen ruthlessly beaten a common man who accidently came in the way of her protocol. In addition it was reported that Reham Khan is using KPK government's helicopter as means of personal transport and now IK's nephews. True face of Tabdeli and Naya Pakistan

So now Imran is responsible for actions of his relatives. How can he be accused of VVIP culture. Did he do sufarish on behalf of his nephew? I will appreciate the warden when he arrests someone from Sharif clan who are the hukumran of Punjab. Arresting people who are relatives of opposition hardly requires courage. In fact, warden would get shabashi from the hukumrans.

Really. I don,t think booking these 2 alone kids on simple charges of traffic violations will end VIP culture. We daily witness a no of traffic violation, i am sure we have done traffic violations / fights with wardens. And for all those praising end of VIP culture, VIP culture lies with these ruling elite with 10,s of guards roaming around. and I am sure the traffic warden has only courage to book common people. Did u feel these wardens have courage to stop any relative of Shrief Family or Zerdari Family. Booking in any case is a very big things. dear live in reality.
