KARACHI: Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) champions K-Electric were on Monday drawn against Bhutan’s Druk United and Mongolians Khoromkhon in Group ‘A’ of the playoff qualifiers for the 2016 AFC Cup.

K-Electric are making their first appearance on the continent after winning their maiden PPFL title last season and are set to bolster their side for the qualifiers since by signing UK-based duo of Shani Abbasi and Jon Ashworth.

In order to progress to the playoffs of Asia’s second-tier club competition, K-Electric need to win the group — the matches of which will be held in Bhutan from August 9 to 15.

The six teams in the playoff qualifiers have been divided into two groups of three each. Group ‘B’ sees Kyrgyzstan’s FC Alga, Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited of Bangladesh and Macau’s Casa Benfica fight it out for top spot.
