GILGIT: The Gilgit-Baltistan Election Commission on Tuesday issued the results of 23 out of 24 constituencies of Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly.

The result of GBLA-17, Diamer, has been withheld till completion of an inquiry. Polling in three polling stations of the constituency had been suspended after a clash between JUI-F and PML-N candidates.

According to the results, PML-N has emerged as the single largest party winning 15 seats. It has also won the support of an independent. Islami Tehreek Pakistan and Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen and independents have won two seats each while PTI, PPP and JUI-F secured one seat each.

PML-N candidate Jaffrullah was declared winner from GBLA-1 constituency, Hafiz-ur-Rehman GBLA-2, Dr Mohammad Iqbal GBLA-3, Mir Ghazanfer Ali Khan GBLA-6, Mohammad Akbar Khan GBLA-7, Haji Fida Mohammad Nashad GBLA-9, Iqbal Hassan GBLA-11, Farman Ali GBLA-13, Barkat Jamil GBLA-14, Janbaz Khan GBLA-16, Mohammad Wakeel GBLA-18, Mohammad Ibrahim Sanai GBLA-22, Ghulam Hussain GBLA- 23 and Mohammad Shafique from GBLA-24, respectively.

Likewise, two independent candidates Fida Khan and Nawaz Khan Naji were declared winners from GBLA-20, and GBLA-19, respectively.

Two candidates of Islami Tehreek, Mohammad Ali and Mohammad Sikandar Ali won GBLA-4 and GBLA-10 seats, respectively. Furthermore, two candidates of Majlis Wahdat Muslimeen Rizwan Ali and Imiaz Haider won from GBLA-5 and GBLA-8, respectively. PTI candidate Raja Jahanzeb won from GBLA-21, JUI candidate Haji Shah Baig won from GBLA-15, and PPP’s Imran Nadeem from GBLA-12, respectively.
