KARACHI: Students ransack CHK ward

KARACHI, Oct 6: A group of students manhandled teachers conducting the final year MBBS supplementary examination at the Dow Medical College on Monday.

They also ransacked the medical ward of the Civil Hospital.

Dr Raza Ali, MS of the Civil Hospital, told Dawn that 40 to 50 students came to the Medical Unit-II where examination was in progress.

The students asked for Prof Illahi Buksh Soomro, and manhandled doctors present in the ward, the MS said.

Dr Raza Ali said that as he received the information about the incident, he called the police.

INJURED: Several students were injured when they were attacked by students of another group at the Government Saifee Technical Institute in North Nazimabad on Monday.

According to an IJT statement, several of their members were attacked by their rivals during the on-going admission process at the institute.

Zubair, Nadeem and Fahad who received injuries in the clash were shifted to the hospital for treatment.
