KARACHI: A suspected gangster having ties with the outlawed Balochistan Liberation Army was killed in an alleged encounter with Rangers in Pak Colony on Tuesday.

Officials said that the paramilitary force carried out an intelligence-driven targeted raid on a hideout of Lyari gangsters in Old Golimar.

In an ensuing encounter, one of the suspects was killed. He was identified as Rafiq.

“He was a gangster who had linked with the Balochistan Liberation Army,” claimed an official. “He was involved in a number of cases pertaining to murder, kidnapping for ransom, etc.”

The Ranges also claimed to have seized weapons and huge quantity of drugs from the hideout.
