Nazim calls for empowering women

Published October 4, 2003

RAWALPINDI, Oct 3: There is an urgent need for making women the most useful members of the society by providing them with the best possible training.

This was stated by Tehsil Nazim Hamid Nawaz Raja while speaking at an industrial school here on Friday.

He distributed sewing machines among women out of the quota resereved for Tehsil member from Union Council-III, Sumera Gul.

Hamid Nawaz Raja said such trainings would enable the women to work along men for sharing their economic burden and help them out in their financial difficulties.

He said, last year, each of the Tehsil members was given sewing machines so that they might set up industrial schools in their respective areas.

He advised the Tehsil Council members to unite with a view to establishing centre for the training of the women councillors.
