RAWALPINDI: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 15 people and seized drugs worth millions of rupees in actions across the country.

According to a spokesman, the ANF carried out 15 operations in various areas and seized 16.1kg of opium, 34.7kg of Charas, 450 grams of heroin and ingested capsules and five vehicles.

The ANF staff at Benazir Bhutto International Airport detained a passenger, Mohammad Tanveer, who confessed having swallowed heroin capsules. He intended to take off for Dubai.

Another passenger, Ishfaq Ahmed Butt of Gujrat, was held with heroin capsules while checking-in for a Qatar Airways flight for Athens via Doha.

In Lahore, ANF staff intercepted a passenger, Shahbaz of Rawalpindi, and seized 3kg of hashish concealed in his luggage.

In Dera Ghazi Khan, 7kg of hashish concealed in a truck was seized during routine checking on Multan Road. Two men on board, Habib Ullah and Toor Gul of Balochistan, were arrested.

Shafqat Ullah and Tarique Aziz of Peshawar were arrested and 9.6kg of hashish seized from a car in Lahore.

The ANF Lahore Road Check Team intercepted a car near Haroon Express Bus Stand, Thokar Niaz Baig, and seized opium and hashish. Naveed Khan of Charsadda was arrested.

ANF staff intercepted a motorcycle near a bus stand in Lahore and seized 4.8kg of hashish from Farhad, of Mardan.

Peshawar ANF conducted a raid near Patang Chowk and seized 9.6kg of hashish from Asmat Gul of Kurram Agency.

A Dubai-bound passenger, Salman Khan of Swabi, has held at the Bacha Khan International Airport with heroin filled capsules in his stomach.

The ANF staff at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, detained a passenger in a similar case. He was going to Thailand.

In a raid in Nazimabad, 1.1kg of hashish was seized from Javed.

Karachi ANF seized 450 grams of heroin concealed in four leather jackets from a parcel booked from Sialkot by Mujahid Hussain of Narowal for the United Kingdom. Opium concealed in a toy booked from Karachi for the UK was also seized.
