Blasphemy law needs to be implemented according to the teachings of Islam. If it's against teaching of Islam then it should be removed. But Mullah will never think in the same way because they don't care about teaching of Islam all they want is popularity and power.

Highly dubious reporting! What was his crime that deserved 25 years in prison? Why not specify it for warning to others?

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Without total freedom of thought and speech, the country can never wholly extricate itself of extremism and terrorism. Blasphemy laws are a sure recipe for terrorism.

TRUE scripture is not on a piece of paper and it never came down on a piece of paper. Its inside the heart , according to the capacity of the individual.

So called sacred scriptures of all religions are nothing but collection of vague thoughts of some people which are more than thousands of years old. They don't stand the scrutiny of modern knowledge based on science and technology. Best sacred scripture for any society should be the equitable rule of law, the constitution based on equality and secularism and books for school children teaching love and affection to all humans with hatred towards none.

@ Kailash & @ KIT PAL
I fully agree. How a man can de-sacred the 'sacred scriptures' of any religion ? He must be having some divine power. People will be 'SCARED' to even touch the 'SACRED' scriptures.

This case is nine years old and so this man must have been in jail for that long. So does he get the benefit of the time already served leaving him to serve 16 more years less the time off for good behavior?

Unfortunately our world is split in extremes. At one hand are nations jubilating the insults on the holy prophet PBUH and on the other are these forces sending people behind bars for decades for desecrating the holy scripts. How about educating this person for five years?
