Arsenal held by Lokomotiv

MOSCOW, Sept 30: Arsenal and Lokomotiv Moscow are both still looking for their first victory in this season’s Champions League after drawing 0-0 in their Group B match in the Russian capital on Tuesday.

The two sides, who both lost their opening matches two weeks ago, picked up their first points, leaving them two behind Inter Milan and Dynamo Kiev, who meet in Milan in the other group match later on Tuesday.

Thierry Henry, who shot just over the bar in the ninth minute, and central defender Kolo Toure, with a glancing header from a corner, came close with first-half chances for Arsenal, while at the other end they had several narrow escapes.

The closest was Dmitry Loskov’s corner to the near post which striker Mikheil Ashvetia flicked goalwards with his head and defender Ashley Cole cleared off the line.—Reuters
