BAHAWALPUR: The chief minister has constituted a south Punjab health task force committee in order to effectively check the sale of spurious drugs.
The task force comprises four divisions of Bahawalpur, Multan, Sahiwal and Dera Ghazi Khan with MPA Qazi Adnan Farid (Ahmedpur East) as its in-charge.
MPAs Syed Abdul Aleem (DG.Khan), Nishat Husain (Khanewal), Zeeshan Gurmani (Muzaffargarh), the commissioners, district coordination officers of four divisions would be committee’s members.
Other members included Punjab additional chief secretary, secretaries of law, health, prosecution, information, PITB chairman, IGP, Bahawalpur regional police officer, district health officers and drug controllers.
LAW, ORDER REVIEWED: A high-level meeting here on Monday reviewed the law and order situation, the implementation of National Action Plan (NAP) and the ongoing uplift projects particularly Khadim-i-Punjab road programme and Saaf Pani project in Bahawalpur division.
The meeting was chaired by Punjab Chief Secretary Khizar Hayat Gondal and participated in by MPAs, IGP Mushtaq Sukhera, Punjab Cooperative Minister Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar and provincial secretaries of different departments.
The chief secretary said the government’s top priority was the development of south Punjab.
CLEANLINESS: A week-long cleanliness campaign was launched in the city here on Monday.
According to Bahawalpur Waste Management Company (BWMC) Managing Director Muhammad Naeem Akhtar, sanitation conditions would be improved and plots, parks and other open places would be cleared of filth.
