Three of family die in road accident

SHEIKHUPURA: Three people of a family died in a road crash on Nankana-Bucheki Road on Wednesday.

Police said Ahmed Ali with his wife Shehnaz Bibi and son Khurram Shehzad was riding a motorcycle when first a tractor-trolley knocked them down and later a car, following the tractor, ran over them. The three people died at the scene.

Nankana Sadar police began investigation.

The residents blocked traffic on Nankana-Bucheki Road in protest at the incident. They said traffic police were not checking driving licences and underage drivers on roads.

ROBBERY: Three gunmen chased and burst the tyres of a car driven by a woman on Faisalabad Road near Ferozwatwan on Wednesday, police said.

Police said Mumtaz Bibi along with her teenage son was traveling in a car from Faisalabad to Lahore when the gunmen riding a motorcycle intercepted them. They fired shots at the tyres and as a result the car veered off the road and ended up in the roadside field.

The outlaws took away valuables from the car passengers.

Bhiki police started investigation.
