GUJRAT, Sept 27: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry on Saturday transferred the Kharian additional district and sessions judge and the civil judge-cum-judicial magistrate on disciplinary grounds.

The action was taken in the wake of a scuffle involving use of punches and shoes between ADSJ Mian Anwar and civil judge Munir Hussain in the latter’s courtroom and retiring room at Kharian.

Taking serious note of the incident, the chief justice transferred Mian Anwar to Gujrat and made Mr Hussain an OSD. Both the judges were directed to report to the high court.

DACOITY: Four armed dacoits took away Rs50,000 in cash and gold ornaments from the house of an expatriate, Riaz, in Surakhpur village of Tanda on Friday night.
