LAHORE: Hataff and Guard Filters recorded easy victories at the April Polo Cup here on Wednesday.

Three-goal Hassan Ali Farukkh and Kashif Jamal’s brace steered Hataff to a 5-3 win over Diamond Paints.

The losers, having a two-goal handicap, led the first chukker 3-1 as their lone-scorer Irfan Sheikh hit a field goal before Hassan fired his first for the winners. From thereon, Hataff took full control as Hassan and Kashif netted two goals each in the second chukker to complete the tally. No goal was registered in the last two chukkers.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Nawaz Tiwana stole the show with his five goals in helping Guard Filters earn a 9-6½ win against Magic River.

Having a 2½-goal handicap, Magic River finished the first chukker leading 3½-2.

However, in the second chukker and onwards, Ahmed, Taimur Ali Malik (three goals) and Fahd Noon (one) dominated the proceedings for the winners.

Hassan Agha Khan (2) and Amir Cheema (2) scored the goals for the losers.
