KHAR: Scores of elders from Mamond tribe of Bajaur Agency on Monday announced to join the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, vowing to work for strengthening the party in the region.

The elders made the announcement during a meeting of PTI’s local chapter at Thani area of Mamond tehsil. A large number of party workers, tribal elders, youths and senior members of PTI organising committee were present on the occasion.

PTI leaders, including Dr Khalil ur Rahman, Gul Dad Khan, Abdul Haq Yar, Gul Zafar Khan and others spoke on the occasion, highlighting the main features of the PTI manifesto.

They said that the party was creating awareness among people about their fundamental rights.

They said PTI was committed to changing the old system of governance in Fata to ensure dispensation of speedy justice to people, restore tribesmen’s dignity and to avoid misuse of FCR. They said that absence of a social justice system was the major cause of the backwardness of tribesmen.
